Special Olympics

“The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community”.

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming Mr Charles Nyambe – President and Managing Director, Special Olympics Africa Region – at the seat of the Special Education Needs Authority.

The Board Governance Training of Special Olympics Mauritius – being led by its National Director, Mr Satyagan Choytun – is currently being held at the SENA. We thank Mr Charles Nyambe and the board of Special Olympics Mauritius for the sports equipment donated to the Authority for the welfare of our SEN learners.

Let me win,
But if I cannot win,
Let me be brave
in the attempt.
